Area Baseball: Kapphahn hits, Nagel pitches Flyers to win
LITTLE FALLS—Jacob Kapphahn went 3-3 with four RBIs, two runs, two doubles and a triple to lead the Little Falls Flyers to a 7-0 Granite Ridge Conference victory over the Milaca Wolves Tuesday.
Sam Nagel pitched the win. He struck out 11 and walked two. He was one hit away from a no-hitter.
Travis Wenzel collected two hits for the Flyers.

PEQUOT LAKES—Austin Meister and Marcus Klein each notched victories for Pequot Lakes as the unbeaten Patriots defeated Crosby-Ironton 6-1 and 13-3 in a Mid-State Conference doubleheader Tuesday.
Meister struck out seven in Game One and also helped his cause with a triple. Deven Psyck finished 2-3 with an RBI.
Beau Sanford provided the hitting highlight with a home run for the Rangers.
Klein struck out two batters in four innings in the nightcap. Sam Pfeiffer, Psyck, Dylan Mesenbrink and Chase Larson each tallied two hits for the Patriots.
Matt Christopher and Sanford notched two hits each for the Rangers.

NEW YORK MILLS—Payton Rondesvedt struck out seven and walked one while allowing just two hits for the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines in a 5-1 Park Region Conference win over the New York Mills Eagles Tuesday.
Jake Dykhoff doubled and drove in two runs for WDC, which is 7-0 in the conference. Preston Warren also doubled and Isaac Witthuhn collected two hits and scored twice.

Pierz, Paynesville split
PIERZ—Alec Lochner finished 3-3 with a double as the Pierz Pioneers split a doubleheader with Paynesville Tuesday, losing the first game 7-2, and winning the second game 6-1 in a Central Minnesota Conference matchup.
It was the first loss of the season for the Bulldogs, who lead the conference with an 8-1 record.
Preston Rocheleau went 3-5 in Game One, and Alex Funk doubled and knocked in two Pierz runs.
Lochner and Jack Suska each doubled in Game Two and Suska tallied four RBIs. Isaac Otte also was 1-2 with two RBIs for the Pioneers.

BATTLE LAKE—Josh Doss doubled twice in two games as Pillager split a Park Region Conference doubleheader with Ottertail Central losing Game One 14-4 and winning 11-10 in the second game Tuesday.
In the opener, Doss finished 1-3 with a double. Sam Jensen collected one hit and two RBIs and Joe Anderson and Ty Swenson each doubled.
Pillager swung a hot bat in Game Two with 11 runs on 11 hits. Judah Beard connected on a triple with the bases loaded that enabled the Huskies to walk off with an 11-10 win.
Doss and Beard each had two hits with Doss getting a double and Tyler Wilcox notched a triple.
Kaleb Smith also went 1-3 with a double and three RBIs.
